Scientifically researched are mainly twelve mushrooms recommended by modern psychotherapy for the treatment of various ailments. They include Shiitake, Maitake, and Reishi. All three have now been approved in Asia and the USA for accompanying cancer therapy, and a long series of beneficial properties are ascribed to all three. Each one of them has certain main active ingredients, to which it owes its uniqueness.
Reishi mushrooms, the fountain of youth
The mushroom looks like a hat, covered with dark red lacquer: that is why it is called “Shiny Lacquer Porling”. The Japanese word “Reishi” indicates long life. The tree fungus, up to 15 centimeters in size, is considered a fountain of youth throughout Asia. However, it is not suitable as a palatable mushroom because it is extremely hard and tastes bitter.
In addition to beta-glucans, its outstanding active ingredients are the so-called tripertens. These are considered to be a remedy for allergies. They reduce the production of histamines and inflammation. In addition, they are used for chronic bronchitis, rheumatoid arthritis and asthma. Another specialty of the Tripertene is that they lower the blood pressure and strengthen the cardiovascular system.
